Updates 3rd July 2015

Hi Parents,

Its the end of a great week. The boys have been progressing well in class. Some updates for today.

1) I went through their homework (Maths Revision Worksheet). I will mark and return on Monday. I have returned them their Chapter booklet (Numbers to 40). Please use this worksheet to revise for their test on Monday. Please sign the booklet.

2) We did a short lesson on Poetry recitation. We learnt what a poem is, what stanzas are and also what rhythm is. We have also looked at the Poem we will be presenting 'Animal Homes'. I have sent the Poetry Slam Booklet back home. Please practice the poem on Page 21 with him. This booklet will be collected on Monday.

3) We are also participating in a National Day Celebration Singing Competition. The song allocated to our class is 'Together'. The top 3 of the level will be presenting in front of the whole school during the National Day celebrations. The link for the video is

4) I have returned their files to them. Kindly remove the worksheets and file it safely in a different file at home. Please use the resources for revision. I would need the school file and the fastener to be returned to me on  Monday.

5) I hope you remember the Mathemaniac Card that was given last Term. Please put the contents inside a plastic folder or a file and pass it to me together with the card. I will collect only in Week 3.
It is optional for pupils to take part. Those who finish the cards will be awarded by the Maths Department, so they are highly recommended to complete the tasks.

6) We will be starting of Addition within 40 next week. If you wish to start your son on this topic, it would be greatly appreciated.

7) Please submit the ART KIT to me on Monday or Tuesday. We will be using it this Term during Art lessons.

8) Spelling will be on Monday.

9) We had our Outdoor Education today, part of PAL lessons. We learnt the importance of having a map, what we need to have in a map and pictorial representations. I did a role-play of a new boy in school (John). It was rather amazing how the boys reacted to me, when I was in my character. Some of the boys were so helpful to the 'new student' and guided them to the classroom. You can ask him about his experience during this activity.

This certainly has been a great week and hope you have a wonderful weekend with your son.
