Updates 30th June 2015

Hi Parents,

Some updates for today.

1) We have started the Leader in Me programme today. I have done the Introduction lesson and taught the boys what are habits. They have done a drawing in their Leader in Me activity book hich you can take a look. This programme has been rolled out for the P1 pupils in our school and aims to inculcate some habits in them. Please do look through the book. It's quite interesting. I will collect the book on Wednesday/ Thursday.

2) I have returned the spelling booklet. Please kindly sign and return tomorrow. We have also learnt the meanings of words in Week 2.

3) I have started off the Poetry Recitation booklet with the boys. We learnt about a poem on birds today. There will be a poetry recitation competition in Week 6. I will guide and prepare the boys for it during my lessons.

4) I have given a white booklet regarding the upcoming health checks. Please cut and complete the green and purple forms, staple them together and submit to me tomorrow. Thanks. Please ensure all sections are filled in and signed.

5) We have started on the English Stellar book Poggy Frog and the cows today. We did a reading of the book and this topic will be explored in detail during the Science Centre visit tomorrow.

6) A huge request to bring in recycled paper for the green week recycling competition next week. Please do try to help your child bring in any form of recycled paper, bundled it up, write his name and class in marker clearly on top and leave it in the classroom this week. He can put it straight at the collection centres next week that is being set up in the school concourse area. I will show the boys where it is tomorrow.

7) For parents who did not receive my message, please add my contact number in your phone so that I can whatsapp you (Broadcast only works if you save my number).

Thanks and regards,
Mrs Priya Chopra

Welcome to Term 3

Hi Parents,

Welcome to Term 3, the fast and furious term. There will be a few long weekends this term and thus it is going to be a short and quick term. Firstly, some quick updates.

1) Please remember to bring thermometer daily. Please help to check that their thermometer is in working condition. We will be having temperature taking exercise every day this week, starting from today.

2) Health advisory letter regarding travelling to MERS affected countries has been given to your son. Please inform us if you have traveled to any of these countries (transit included).

3) Learning journey on Wednesday. Since there will be normal lessons on Wednesday before and after the trip, please kindly allow your son to bring a normal school bag. We will be only taking stationery and water bottle to the science center. They are advised to wear PE attire for the whole day. Once the pupils are back from the trip, they will be having a CCA briefing from 12.30pm to 1.30pm by the respective teachers. I have already given them the letter for their confimed CCA groups. If you need any clarification, please do email me. Pupils will be given time to have a heavy recess at 8am.

4) I have already gone through the topic of 'Numbers to 40' with the boys. We started the topic before school closed and have finished the workbook today. I will be giving them a Maths Class Test on Friday for this topic. Please revise the topic with your son.

5) I have also given them spelling test today. Thanks for helping him to memorise it.

6) Please drop me an email with your updated phone numbers as I am collating the whole class parents' email addresses.

Thanks and regards,
Mrs Priya Chopra
